Treatment

Lighting a pathway to wellness.

Millstream Psychologists support you on a wellness journey.

Children & Families

Millstream Psychologists can help you with understanding your child's inner world. Clinicians explore a child's life exposures, temperament, coping strategies, school & home supports, peer relationships, parenting practices, parent projections, learnt behaviours & self-perceptions to understand them and their struggles.

Millstream clinicians connect with you in an allied parenting approach in awareness that you are the most significant agent of change in your child's life. They work with you, school staff and specialists to support family and children's goals to feel happy, empowered, connected, in control of their environment and to like & value themselves

Adolescents

Millstream Psychologists are mindful that transitioning from teen to young adult can be challenging for both adolescents and parents. Clinicians can support families and teens through separation behaviours and feelings of being misunderstood in the context of peer validation and identity needs, and often poor coping strategies.

Millstream clinicians work with your teen to frame mental health vulnerability (e.g., disconnection, detachment, withdrawal, moods, irritability) and explore unhelpful coping strategies (e.g., school or home avoidance, substance misuse, self-harm, or talk/thoughts about ending their life) so they are more open to sharing their struggles with loved ones.

Adults

Millstream Psychologists recognise that asking for help can be difficult as an adult and isn't always prioritised as part of self-care. Clinicians can help you work through mental health vulnerabilities that may include irritability, fatigue, detachment, social withdrawal, loss of enjoyment, lower motivation, and/or sleep disruption.

Millstream clinicians can support you in a course of evidenced treatment for depression, anxiety, or trauma. Clinicians invite exploration of your experiences and struggles, work towards understanding patterns of emotionality, thinking and behaviour, and open you up to new and helpful strategies to end cycles of unhealthy patterns.
